Brassband

Rain and drizzle don't add much to an image, but at least rain doesn't stop people enjoying themselves out of doors. I guess they get used to it, and of the many kinds of outdoor music brass bands are probably more used to it than most. Personally though, I don't do rain, which helps explain why only one of the current set of photos was taken in the wet.

Poi Spinner

The poi spinner has become an icon of contemporary entertainments even though, like juggling, it is rooted in ancient traditions. While the earliest depictions of jugglers date from nearly 4000 years ago in Egypt, modern poi stems from Polynesia and the Maori culture. This shot was taken in Llandovery, one ordinary Saturday in July, 2009, with a German camera from the 1930s.
