Liberty Stadium

Photographing sculpture can be worthwhile if either the sculpture is particularly good or if it fits into its surroundings in a meaningful way. I find this a rather ordinary bronze in itself, but it nonetheless takes up its place against the stadium behind in a striking way. Once again, a shot from a test roll, but one day I'll go back to it with a longer lens.

Flying Figurehead

An altogether more sensitive artwork, the Flying Figurehead needs to be approached with some care to find angles that respect its qualities. In this case a detail seemed most appropriate, and one that would give focus to expression rather than to context. Given its location very few people actually walk past it so it is usually viewed only by drivers and their passengers.
