The Highland heifers sparring in the long grass form an abstract design against the snowy background, with the contrast amplified by an orange filter. Taken with a 500mm lens it was enough to get just the horns in focus. I would not normally shoot by leaning on the car window, but it was cold and I wasn't about to get out and rig up the tripod. I can be lazy sometimes.
I'll admit to a certain Romantic attachment to this shot as it brings back memories of travelling across Spain in the mid 1970s. The Osborne bull, (el Toro de Osborne) still survives as monumental sculpture, though no longer as an advertisement. The pose may be different, but the attitude is the same. Of course, the snowy backdrop is also a little different from encountering the silhouette against the Andalusian sky.
