Lightpool
Sometimes I've gone out with other photographers, this time up Pen y Fan at dawn in a late winter snowstorm, though I was late arriving and didn't make it to the top. However, I did catch the only glimmer of sunlight that morning. The shot was taken with a reloadable 35mm supermarket camera, but I ripped out the colour film and used a black-and-white developer to enhance the grain.

Last Man Down
Semi-destructive manipulation of an emulsion can be used to degrade image quality, which is handy if you want to drift your vision backwards a hundred years or more. The last man down, against the bleak clouds and the peak of Pen y Fan, strikes me as a successful use of the technique, but as always, such impressions are subjective. Your mileage might vary.
