The idea of a winter theme park is kind of fun. There are games, rides, stuffed toys, candy floss and chips, and so on, but the same fibreglass snowmen are trotted out every year. Do they fool anyone? They appear to be the epitome of cheap and cheerful, but at least they offer something of an exposure challenge to the conscientious photographer.
I think Swansea Council was very considerate to publish this notice next to the ice rink. Over the past ten years there has been a steady rise in the number of reports of security officials citing 'security' as grounds for banning, (and in some cases abusing) photographers at public events. The relevant laws are fairly clear, but security training is evidently not always up to speed.
